The Aurora Museum Foundation welcomes you to their website and thanks you for your interest in support of the Aurora History Museum.  We hope you will join us with your membership and contribute your time and finances to help us provide support to this valuable part of your community.

About AMF and Our History

The Aurora Museum Foundation was incorporated on November 27, 1989, as a private nonprofit 502 (c)(3) organization by a group of supporters of the Aurora History Museum. Their first task was to assist the Museum to grow as it moved to it’s present location. Among its many accomplishments have been:

* Sponsored a jubilee ball to celebrate Aurora’s Centennial in 1991

* Solicited recipes and remembrances for the Aurora Centennial Cookbook

* Operated a Museum Store, profits of which benefit the museum

* Sponsored “Homestead City” which was a living history representation of a typical pioneer Front Range town depicting life one hundred years ago

* Sponsored bi-annual Antique Appraisal Fairs

* Supported city events such as 4th of July

* Participated in the Colorado Punkin Chunkin event.

* Assisted in the restoration and storage of the Trolley Trailer No. 610.

* Sponsored special presentations, exhibits and programs at the Museum.

A COMING FOCUSED FUNDRAISING EFFORT


Kate Tauer has graciously volunteered to lead a focused effort designed to raise additional funds in support of the mission of the Aurora Museum Foundation. She describes her activity thus:

   As the freshness of springtime peaks out, we turn our thoughts to the beginning of a fundraising effort to support the Aurora Museum Foundation. This brings to mind the multiple assets our museum provides and raises our awareness of the resources needed to sustain the many programs and partnerships offered by the Aurora History Museum.

Two examples toward which Foundation funds will be applied include Aurora’s 121st Birthday Celebration and a Military/War Film Series.
